Clinical Thai Bodywork is a hands on movement modality that employs techniques from Traditional Thai Massage to treat trigger points in muscles in order to restore pain free movement. It is similar to Thai Massage in that it is done on a mat on the floor and uses many of the same poses and stretches. The level of client engagement is much greater though. You won’t be sleeping through a Clinical Thai Bodywork session, but rather you will be asked to provide feedback on what you are feeling and to participate in other ways like engaging certain muscles. Studies have shown that over 80% of pain complaints in the clinic are likely due to myofascial trigger points as opposed to actual tissue damage. This is good news! It means there are likely non-invasive solutions without side effects available to you.
"Where you think it is . . . it ain't." - Dr. Ida Rolf
If a hands on bodywork treatment is not an option for you due to the pandemic or location, you can learn how to release your own trigger points. These sessions are done online via Zoom. While there are many trigger point tools on the market, it is knowing how and where to use them that is key. As Dr. Ida Rolf said, “Where you think it is … it ain’t.” No one knows your body better than you. Our Guided Self Massage sessions will educate you on how to care for it, so you can elevate how you feel and how you perform. Trigger point release improves mobility and strength.
